Tartan Army descend upon London for EURO20
Tartan Army descend upon London for EURO20
On June 18th 2021, thousands of Scottish football fans travelled south to London for the EURO20 football match against 'The Auld Enemy' England. The fans gathered in London's West End although they had been urged not to travel to London due to coronavirus restrictions unless they had a spectators ticket for the game at Wembley Stadium or had organised somewhere to watch the Euro 2020 game. The crunch match ended in a 0-0 draw, enough to keep Scotland in the tournament. Jubilant supporters continued to drink from the afternoon into the night after the match was concluded in Leicester Square wearing their country's football shirts, kilts, waving flags and setting off smoke bombs. There was only a few flashpoints when English fans tried to spoil the party clashing with Scottish fans in the West End and a number of fans were arrested.
