ABSTRACT POLAROIDS

The project stems from ongoing experimentation with Polaroid film and the concepts of error, abstraction, and memory.
With the aim of constructing alternative and abstract worlds, I began to seek both a physical and mental connection between my Polaroid photographic works and my abstract-informal paintings, in a blend of mutual inspiration and osmosis between the two artistic practices.
I then began researching all the Polaroid films I had preserved and archived over the years, selecting those that were discarded, expired, undeveloped, or partially developed, as well as those that were overexposed, underexposed, or visibly out of focus. This was done with the aim of generating, through multiple superimposed layers, a combination of shapes and colors that evoked abstract-informal painting, in a sort of journey through memory lane through mental and introspective landscapes.
